It was still strange though, beautiful as it was. The sea in the evening looks mysterious and full of wonder - the moon reflects off a dark canvas and ripples its way to the shore.
A silvery ocean is striking, but it lacks the contrast. Pale moonlight on a silver sea is nowhere near as inspiring as the same sight on a dark navy ocean.
Hmm. What a scene of contradictions. Might I suggest this description:
"The ocean strongly knows what it is. It needs not the land beside it to reveal it's true, unforgiving nature. But the sea, the sea is caught between two worlds. As close as it hews to the land, it longs to be the great vastness. But, the light of the moon knows the truth. For, on the ocean, it can be. And in the sea, it must fight amongst the lights of the ships of men."
[... So Haru had been talking about trying some poetry. He didn't think she'd have taken this many steps towards it in such a short a time.]
That is... a very nice description. But it doesn't quite cover what I was trying to say. I am speaking from an artistic perspective. If I were to paint the scene, it would literally have the differences I mentioned. I would be able to paint the ocean as it was, blue and splendid, but it would be from my memory. Not from vision.
The ocean now is grey and has lost that old, familiar charm. It will take me a while to get used to the changes and see that same beauty in them.
he got me talking about Orthus, but because it started in the middle all he got was the bit about being a sweetheart wanting to roll in the mud and steal food, but not being the brightest.
He didn't want to tell me who he thought I meant, but I can tell you it wasn't Orthus.
I'd prefer not to say the name, considering Retrospec's alarming tendencies this month to misfire texts, but I'm pretty sure he thought I meant his roommate.
[She's laughing on her end, even as she notices that this has misfired to someone she doesn't know.]
Considering who this appears to have reached, I think it was likely the better choice. With whom do I have the pleasure of speaking tonight?
[If there's one thing Katherine refuses to be, it's tardy. Particularly when it comes to a date! So on Friday night, just as she'd promised Franklin, Kath's at the restaurant he'd chosen in Tisse, looking crisp and polished (and still not entirely over her salt at the fact that some of her favorite date dresses have been rendered unwearable by Retrospec's nonsense in erasing blue and green!). A couple minutes before 7:30, she gets out of her car, heading for the doors of the restaurant with clutch and phone in hand. With any luck she won't have to wait around looking awkward, but if she does, well... that's life.]
[Oh, he's just racking up the points, isn't he? Franklin's clearly taken the initiative to figure out what she looked like, since her profile picture on Retrospec isn't of herself and he recognized her so readily, and he's handsome and well dressed, to boot. The kiss to her hand is really just the icing on the cake; Kath's smiling before his lips even touch her skin.]
Mr. Brewer. It's nice to finally meet you in person.
[Sometime during the 10th, Frankin will receive a delivery. In a box is a quart size container full of egg drop soup. There's enough soup for about 4 servings worth, or 2 if he's really hungry.
True to the advertisement, the soup emits a constant golden glow.
Unfortunately, at this time with sense of taste gone from Recolle, the soup is tasteless. Though it's pretty easy to tell this is a very high quality soup.
Eating a serving of soup provides the following effects:
A small amount of instantaneous healing (bruises, cuts, minor burns, general soreness, etc)
An overall feeling of warmth if Franklin is cold that lasts a couple minutes. It also cures any frostbite, hypothermia, or being frozen by ice magic.
A feeling of extra strength over the next three hours. Franklin will find he's about 25% stronger performing any three feats of physical strength. Once he performs 3 feats of strength or 3 hours pass, the feeling will wear off.
Franklin can do as he'd like with the soup. The magical effects will last until it becomes unsafe to eat.
Along with the soup, is a small thank you card with a quick explanation of the effects closing out with "Enjoy! :)" ]
